Requirements
- Minimum three years of experience in telecommunications, RF, or fiber environments operations.
- Associate degree or technical school equivalent (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with Motorola CPS/RSS and Kenwood, or similar platforms.
- Experience with analog and digital radio systems (P25, DMR, NXDN, etc.).
- Strong understanding of RF theory, antenna systems, and RF test equipment.
- Basic understanding of IP networking and telecom infrastructure.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required (approximately 50–75%).
- Ability to climb ladders (over 6 feet) and work at various heights.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to pass and maintain compliance with federal background check and drug-free workplace requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform inside and outside fiber optic plant installation, including Cat 6 cabling.
- Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve fiber optic network anomalies.
- Conduct fiber testing, maintenance, splicing, replacement, and underground cable locating.
- Install, configure, provision, and implement telecommunications and infrastructure equipment.
- Install, program, align, and maintain Motorola and Kenwood two-way radio systems, repeaters, and accessories.
- Diagnose and repair RF, audio, and network-related issues in mobile and base station radios.
- Conduct bench and field-testing using service monitors, spectrum analyzers, and other RF diagnostic tools.
- Support emergency network outages within 4 hours when required.
