Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or payroll, with hands-on exposure to payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable, and month-end close activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and fundamental accounting principles.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets (Google Sheets or Excel), including functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
- Experience with payroll or financial systems (Paycom or similar platforms preferred).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly.
- High attention to detail with a strong sense of accuracy and accountability.
- Ability to thrive in a fully remote, technology-driven work environment.
Responsibilities
- Process semi-monthly payroll with a high level of accuracy, ensuring correct handling of wages, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and time tracking data.
- Administer employee benefits programs including HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life insurance, ensuring accurate deductions and timely employee support.
- Reconcile payroll accounts, prepare journal entries, and generate financial reports to support leadership decision-making and financial visibility.
- Ensure payroll tax compliance and maintain audit-ready records in collaboration with the finance team.
- Support employee data updates and payroll-related inquiries in partnership with people and culture teams.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting.
- Support cash management processes and contribute to ad hoc financial analysis, audits, and process improvement initiatives.
