Requirements
- 15+ years of payroll experience with strong exposure to India and multiple APAC countries
- 5+ years of experience in people management within payroll or shared services environments
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, tax regulations, and compliance frameworks across APAC regions
- Experience working with payroll systems such as Workday, SAP, and ADP Global View
- Proven ability to manage end-to-end payroll operations in large, multinational organizations
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience handling audits, governance, and payroll controls in complex environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across global teams
- Ability to work under pressure, manage priorities, and meet strict deadlines consistently
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end payroll operations for India and other APAC regions, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and disbursement
- Manage, coach, and develop payroll teams, ensuring strong performance, capability building, and succession planning
- Review and approve payroll outputs, payments, and statutory filings while ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations
- Coordinate with HR, Finance, and external vendors to resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure seamless operations
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports, audits, and regulatory filings
- Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and standardization of payroll workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Strengthen internal controls, data privacy practices, and compliance governance across payroll operations
- Handle internal and external audits and ensure documentation and operational readiness at all times
- Act as escalation point for complex payroll issues and ensure timely resolution with minimal operational disruption
