Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in commercial lending, mortgage finance, or credit underwriting.
- Proven track record in originating, structuring, and closing commercial mortgage transactions.
- Strong understanding of credit analysis, financial statements, and property valuation.
- Knowledge of Canadian commercial real estate markets and lending regulations.
- Ability to build and maintain referral networks.
- Strong analytical and credit judgment skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/lending systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and grow a pipeline of commercial mortgage opportunities through referrals.
- Pre-qualify and structure lending opportunities by assessing borrower strength and property fundamentals.
- Prepare and present well-supported credit submissions.
- Negotiate loan structures, pricing, terms, and conditions.
- Coordinate with underwriting, credit, legal, and funding teams.
- Manage an assigned portfolio of commercial mortgage clients.
- Conduct property visits, annual reviews, and covenant tracking.
