Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial lending, mortgage finance, or credit underwriting.
  • Proven track record in originating, structuring, and closing commercial mortgage transactions.
  • Strong understanding of credit analysis, financial statements, and property valuation.
  • Knowledge of Canadian commercial real estate markets and lending regulations.
  • Ability to build and maintain referral networks.
  • Strong analytical and credit judgment skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/lending systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow a pipeline of commercial mortgage opportunities through referrals.
  • Pre-qualify and structure lending opportunities by assessing borrower strength and property fundamentals.
  • Prepare and present well-supported credit submissions.
  • Negotiate loan structures, pricing, terms, and conditions.
  • Coordinate with underwriting, credit, legal, and funding teams.
  • Manage an assigned portfolio of commercial mortgage clients.
  • Conduct property visits, annual reviews, and covenant tracking.
