Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in business development, strategic account management, or capture roles within the A&D industry
  • Proven track record of winning large, complex deals (including $20M+ opportunities)
  • Strong knowledge of PCB, RF/microwave, microelectronics, or mission systems industries
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with aerospace and defense prime contractors and stakeholders
  • Experience working in complex, matrixed organizations with cross-functional teams
  • Strong ability to influence customer requirements and acquisition strategies through technical credibility
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong understanding of capture management methodologies and CRM-based opportunity tracking
  • Ability to quickly understand technical product portfolios and competitive positioning
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50%, including domestic and occasional international travel

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic and emerging account capture activities within assigned A&D customers
  • Develop and maintain senior-level relationships across program management, engineering, and technical stakeholders
  • Identify and shape new business opportunities 18–48 months before formal solicitations through early customer engagement
  • Manage the full capture lifecycle including qualification, shaping, proposal development, and award execution
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities in CRM systems with detailed competitive and stakeholder intelligence
  • Lead cross-functional capture strategies in collaboration with engineering, operations, pricing, and supply chain teams
  • Influence customer requirements and acquisition strategies through technical engagement, white papers, and industry participation
  • Act as the voice of the customer internally, translating mission needs into actionable business strategies
  • Apply structured capture and phase-gate methodologies to ensure disciplined pursuit decisions and resource allocation
  • Coordinate closely with leadership to assess competitive positioning and optimize win strategies
