Requirements
- Prior individual contributor experience in messaging, eventing, or platform engineering.
- Proven experience managing engineers and leading hiring loops.
- Production experience with Go.
- Exposure to the Rust async ecosystem.
- Working knowledge of email infrastructure (AWS SES, SMTP, SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
- Experience with third-party messaging APIs (Slack, Microsoft Graph, Google Chat).
- Deep understanding of AWS event-driven stack (EventBridge, SQS, SNS).
- Experience with Terraform for IaC at scale.
- Understanding of observability tooling and structured logging.
- BS or equivalent plus 3 years technical experience (or MS/PhD equivalents).
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers at the intersection of identity, platform reliability, and messaging.
- Oversee development of high-throughput email and notification delivery services using Go and Rust.
- Manage event-driven architecture, including pub/sub, fan-out, and delivery reliability.
- Provide technical guidance on architectural decisions, design docs, and RFCs.
- Lead hiring, performance conversations, and professional growth for team members.
- Coordinate with other engineering teams regarding cross-team messaging SDKs.
- Oversee multi-account, multi-region Terraform provisioning and infrastructure governance.
