Requirements
- Experience managing Machine Learning specialists.
- Strong ML judgement across the full model lifecycle (problem framing, development, deployment, governance).
- Experience working in ambiguous, high-impact problem spaces.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with cross-functional partners.
- Focus on outcomes over process and ability to prioritise work.
- Knowledge of what constitutes high-quality production ML systems.
- Clear communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Commitment to building inclusive, high-performing teams.
Responsibilities
- Managing, coaching and developing a team of Machine Learning specialists through 1:1s and development plans.
- Helping the Fraud group focus ML effort on high-impact problems balancing customer protection and delivery pace.
- Partnering with PMs, Risk Partners, Engineering Managers, and Data Managers to shape roadmaps.
- Creating conditions for high-quality ML delivery: development, deployment, monitoring, governance, and documentation.
- Maintaining a high bar for ML excellence, including model performance, explainability, and reproducibility.
- Ensuring ML products are owned and improved over time.
- Building an inclusive team culture and contributing to the wider Data discipline.
