Requirements
- Fluent in Python programming.
- Available for 4 months of full-time commitment.
- Strong technical background in computer science, mathematics, or physics.
- Ability to implement ideas quickly.
- Clear communication skills.
- Motivation to make AI safe and beneficial.
- Experience in research or engineering related to the specific workstream (preferred).
- Experience with empirical ML research (preferred).
- Experience working with large language models (preferred).
- Strong software engineering skills (for technical workstreams).
Responsibilities
- Conduct 4 months of full-time empirical research.
- Produce a public output such as a paper submission.
- Engage in direct mentorship from Anthropic researchers.
- Participate in project selection and mentor matching process.
- Collaborate across research and engineering disciplines.
- Communicate research results clearly, even when null or unexpected.
- Attend weekly research discussions.
- Work full-time on research projects aligned with Anthropic's research priorities.
