Requirements
- 7-10+ years in energy markets with depth in power market analytics and energy storage dispatch.
- Experience with operating assets or virtual bidding in wholesale electricity markets.
- Deep familiarity with ISO market structures (PJM, MISO, or SPP).
- Hands-on experience with LMP forecasting and production cost or capacity expansion tools (Encompass, Plexos, Aurora, PROMOD).
- Proficient in Python and SQL.
- Experience producing and defending market views to energy traders, utilities, or financiers.
- Experience managing forecast vendors or market consultants.
- Comfortable with AI and automation tools.
- Strong communication skills for technical and financial audiences.
Responsibilities
- Own long-term LMP forecasts for power projects and power-to-heat projects.
- Lead ELCC modeling across ISOs and own the company's position on capacity value for thermal storage.
- Develop and maintain views on ancillary services participation and value.
- Build and maintain analytical models to inform project valuation and deal structuring.
- Develop market participation strategies across ISOs.
- Track and model implications of changes to energy, capacity, and ancillary services market rules.
- Represent company views on economics to data center operators, utilities, and financiers.
- Direct data scientist and software engineer peers.
- Manage relationships with forecast vendors and power market consultants.
