Job Details

Experience in applied science, data science, or a related quantitative field, including work on production systems that drive business decisions.
Hands-on experience building, evaluating, and supporting machine learning models in production using Python and SQL.
Strong statistical, mathematical, and analytical problem-solving skills.
Comfort working with tradeoffs, constraints, and uncertainty.
Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into clear technical approaches.
Advanced degree in a quantitative field or equivalent practical experience in applied science, statistics, economics, computer science, operations research, or related discipline.
Experience with large-scale marketplace systems, including observability and monitoring (plus).
Experience with Bayesian modeling frameworks, including PyMC (plus).
Experience using dbt or similar data modeling and management workflows (plus).

Build, improve, and productionize machine learning and optimization systems that support routing and allocation decisions across Zillow’s marketplace.
Define success metrics, evaluate model and system performance, and support experimentation to improve business outcomes and operational quality.
Partner with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Applied Science to frame problems, communicate tradeoffs, and align on decision approaches.
Write and maintain production-quality Python and SQL code to support model development, deployment, monitoring, and diagnostics.
Identify system limitations, unintended effects, and opportunities to improve fairness, reliability, and explainability in marketplace decision systems.
