Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience in US payroll tax
- Experience with ADP Tax Services and Workday Payroll
- High School diploma (Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred)
- Competency in multi-state payrolls and tax laws
- Proficiency in Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
Responsibilities
- Ensure payroll tax activities are processed timely, accurately and in compliance with federal, multi-state, and local tax regulations and FLSA labor laws.
- Manage tax vendor Monthly, Quarterly and Annual government filings, amendments and reporting including creation of W-2s and W-2Cs.
- Verify and update federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and tax rates.
- Investigate and respond to tax inquires, agency notices and audits.
- Resolve escalations, perform root-cause analysis, and implement process improvements.
- Assist with tax related payroll projects, system testing and implementations.
- Organize and facilitate ongoing training for payroll team members.
- Develop and maintain process documentation such as SOPs and job aids.
