Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in US payroll tax
  • Experience with ADP Tax Services and Workday Payroll
  • High School diploma (Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred)
  • Competency in multi-state payrolls and tax laws
  • Proficiency in Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure payroll tax activities are processed timely, accurately and in compliance with federal, multi-state, and local tax regulations and FLSA labor laws.
  • Manage tax vendor Monthly, Quarterly and Annual government filings, amendments and reporting including creation of W-2s and W-2Cs.
  • Verify and update federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and tax rates.
  • Investigate and respond to tax inquires, agency notices and audits.
  • Resolve escalations, perform root-cause analysis, and implement process improvements.
  • Assist with tax related payroll projects, system testing and implementations.
  • Organize and facilitate ongoing training for payroll team members.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation such as SOPs and job aids.
