Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience supporting energy, utility, transmission, renewable energy, or infrastructure development projects.
  • Demonstrated experience acquiring rights-of-way and easements for linear infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of real estate acquisition processes throughout the Western United States.
  • Direct experience working on projects in California, including familiarity with California land use and utility environments.
  • Comfortable operating within a consulting environment.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple active acquisitions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed throughout the Western U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Lead acquisition of easements, rights-of-way, licenses, options, and other property rights for energy and transmission infrastructure projects across the Western U.S.
  • Support route development and siting efforts through landowner identification, property ownership research, and land constraint analysis.
  • Conduct title review, ownership verification, and property due diligence to inform project planning and risk assessment.
  • Negotiate agreements with private landowners, public agencies, utilities, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate closely with project managers, environmental teams, permitting specialists, and engineers.
  • Assist with real estate strategy development during project planning and feasibility phases.
  • Support stakeholder outreach efforts related to property acquisition and landowner engagement.
  • Maintain accurate project records, databases, and acquisition status reporting.
  • Provide real estate expertise during project development, permitting, and construction phases.
