Requirements
- 5–6+ years of experience in public policy, government affairs, nonprofit advocacy, or legislative work.
- Demonstrated expertise in healthcare policy, particularly Medicaid, CHIP, and public health financing systems.
- Experience designing and delivering advocacy trainings, policy toolkits, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
- Strong ability to conduct policy analysis, legislative tracking, and develop written advocacy materials.
- Knowledge of federal lobbying rules and experience engaging with policymakers and coalitions.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Proficiency with remote collaboration tools such as Zoom, Slack, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across diverse stakeholder groups.
Responsibilities
- Support statewide affiliates in advancing legislative and policy priorities.
- Develop and deliver advocacy tools, including toolkits, templates, trainings, webinars, and technical assistance.
- Lead federal and state advocacy efforts, including congressional engagement and policy briefings.
- Conduct policy research and produce materials such as fact sheets, testimony, and legislative summaries.
- Identify and support funding opportunities related to Medicaid and CHIP.
- Utilize advocacy platforms to track legislation and monitor policy trends.
- Support internal policy operations and cross-functional coordination.
