Requirements
- J.D. from accredited U.S. law school or equivalent foreign degree.
- Significant experience with U.S. legal matters.
- 5-7 years of experience with legal review of go-to-market, fundraising, technical products, or online services.
- Experience in product, privacy, marketing, and internet law.
- Experience advising a user-facing digital technology or internet company.
- Significant experience working with engineering colleagues as a counselor.
- Full fluency in written and spoken English.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Provide holistic in-house legal guidance to the Fundraising, Product, and Engineering teams.
- Analyze forthcoming regulations related to marketing, customization, and fundraising initiatives.
- Support Advancement, Product, and Technology teams on marketing and mobile app development.
- Collaborate with lawyers and public policy professionals to address the impact of Generative AI.
- Identify and execute opportunities to advance the Wikimedia mission in a complex legal landscape.
- Support Product and Engineering in developing a data governance model for privacy.
