Requirements

J.D. from accredited U.S. law school or equivalent foreign degree.
Significant experience with U.S. legal matters.
5-7 years of experience with legal review of go-to-market, fundraising, technical products, or online services.
Experience in product, privacy, marketing, and internet law.
Experience advising a user-facing digital technology or internet company.
Significant experience working with engineering colleagues as a counselor.
Full fluency in written and spoken English.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Provide holistic in-house legal guidance to the Fundraising, Product, and Engineering teams.
Analyze forthcoming regulations related to marketing, customization, and fundraising initiatives.
Support Advancement, Product, and Technology teams on marketing and mobile app development.
Collaborate with lawyers and public policy professionals to address the impact of Generative AI.
Identify and execute opportunities to advance the Wikimedia mission in a complex legal landscape.
Support Product and Engineering in developing a data governance model for privacy.
