Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate accounting environment.
  • Strong experience managing general ledger functions, reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.
  • Hands-on experience with inventory accounting and financial reconciliation across systems or entities.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • CPA designation is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and large dataset analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
  • Experience with financial systems and accounting tools; SQL or data-querying skills are a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive financial information.
  • Self-directed, proactive communicator with strong ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute core general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.
  • Support and manage month-end and year-end close processes across multiple entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain accurate inventory valuation (FIFO), monitor inventory movement, and partner with operations to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Analyze balance sheet and income statement fluctuations and ensure compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Coordinate tax compliance activities, including payroll tax reconciliations, filings, payments, and resolution of tax notices.
  • Act as a liaison with external tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate tax submissions and documentation.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reporting packages for leadership review.
  • Identify and post adjusting, reversing, and correcting journal entries as needed to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Support audit processes by preparing documentation and serving as a key point of contact for external auditors.
  • Contribute to process improvements, internal controls enhancement, and accounting system optimization initiatives.
