Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate accounting environment.
- Strong experience managing general ledger functions, reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.
- Hands-on experience with inventory accounting and financial reconciliation across systems or entities.
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- CPA designation is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and large dataset analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
- Experience with financial systems and accounting tools; SQL or data-querying skills are a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive financial information.
- Self-directed, proactive communicator with strong ownership mindset.
Responsibilities
- Own and execute core general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.
- Support and manage month-end and year-end close processes across multiple entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Maintain accurate inventory valuation (FIFO), monitor inventory movement, and partner with operations to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Analyze balance sheet and income statement fluctuations and ensure compliance with GAAP standards.
- Coordinate tax compliance activities, including payroll tax reconciliations, filings, payments, and resolution of tax notices.
- Act as a liaison with external tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate tax submissions and documentation.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reporting packages for leadership review.
- Identify and post adjusting, reversing, and correcting journal entries as needed to maintain accurate financial records.
- Support audit processes by preparing documentation and serving as a key point of contact for external auditors.
- Contribute to process improvements, internal controls enhancement, and accounting system optimization initiatives.
