Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech market access, with strong focus on Medicaid and regional payer account management.
  • Proven success in securing and maintaining formulary access for specialty, launch-stage, or innovative therapies.
  • Deep understanding of the US payer landscape, including Medicaid structures, utilization management, prior authorization, and reimbursement processes.
  • Strong ability to translate HEOR, clinical, and health economic data into clear and persuasive value propositions for payer audiences.
  • Experience working in launch or high-growth biotech environments with complex or evolving access strategies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with ability to influence both external payer customers and internal leadership teams.
  • Experience in payer contracting, including value-based or outcomes-based agreements, is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in Business, Public Health, Health Economics, Pharmacy, or related fields preferred.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to operate in highly matrixed environments.
  • Mission-driven mindset with interest in expanding access to mental health innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans for Medicaid and regional (Commercial and Medicare) payers to secure optimal formulary access for an innovative mental health therapy.
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key payer stakeholders, including Pharmacy Directors, Medical Directors, P&T committee members, and finance leaders.
  • Lead negotiations and coverage discussions with payer organizations, identifying and addressing barriers to formulary inclusion and access.
  • Translate clinical, HEOR, and economic evidence into compelling value narratives to support reimbursement and access decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (HEOR, Medical Affairs, Government Affairs, Finance, and Commercial Operations) to align payer strategy and contracting approaches.
  • Lead Medicaid P&T and DUR engagement strategies, coordinating evidence generation, stakeholder testimony, and advocacy support to influence coverage decisions.
  • Monitor payer landscape dynamics, policy changes, and competitive environment to continuously refine account strategies and execution plans.
