Requirements
- 8–10+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data platform roles.
- At least 5 years in people management, including 3+ years managing managers.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple teams or workstreams (15+ people) simultaneously.
- Strong technical credibility across data platform and analytics engineering.
- Strong experience with dbt (data build tool) project structure, testing, and CI/CD.
- Production experience with Databricks or equivalent lakehouse platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery) at scale.
- Proven track record of stakeholder management at the director/VP level.
- Ability to distill technical complexity for non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen regarding product metrics, growth, and monetization.
- AI native mindset with experience using AI tools for engineering productivity.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical roadmap across data platform, analytics engineering, and ads data infrastructure.
- Own the analytics engineering strategy end-to-end including dbt project structure and data modeling standards.
- Oversee the data platform, including Databricks infrastructure, pipeline orchestration, and reliability.
- Drive toward a self-serve data experience for analysts and data scientists.
- Manage vendor relationships (Snowflake, Databricks, Amplitude) and strategic build vs. buy decisions.
- Lead and develop three engineering managers and their teams.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for data engineering across Product, Engineering, Finance, and Marketing.
- Own budget and cost management for data engineering infrastructure.
