Requirements
- Experience operating a cloud data platform at real scale
- Expertise in event ingestion, streaming, transformation, and distributed systems
- Proficiency in production reliability practices (SLOs, freshness guarantees, replay strategies)
- Experience designing infrastructure for AI/ML in production (feature pipelines, online/offline stores)
- Proven team leadership experience
- Ability to articulate complex technical trade-offs
- Experience with AWS (EKS, MSK, S3), Kafka, Spark, Snowflake, and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
Responsibilities
- Mature the foundations of the Snowflake-based platform
- Design and ship infrastructure for real-time and near-real-time feature serving
- Set and maintain platform engineering standards (SLAs, monitoring, cost discipline)
- Partner with the Analytics team to define ownership boundaries
- Grow the Data Platform team from two to four engineers
- Manage day-to-day operations including planning, RFCs, and incident response
- Provide technical mentorship to team members
