Requirements
- JD from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice in California or eligible for Registered In-House Counsel status.
- 3-5 years of in-house counsel experience at a software/tech company or national law firm.
- Strong ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience adopting AI-driven legal tools.
- Experience with legal matters in healthcare or SaaS preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide business-minded legal guidance on privacy, security, billing, IP, and procurement.
- Advise on privacy and security frameworks including HIPAA, CCPA, and CPRA.
- Draft and review contracts for business development, operations, and products.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to ensure compliance by design for new software features.
- Proactively identify, mitigate, and manage legal and compliance risks.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Oversee responses to government subpoenas and patient information requests.
- Manage customer and vendor escalations and disputes.
