Requirements
- Law degree and U.S. state bar admission.
- Exceptional academic record from a top 30 law school.
- 4-8 years of legal experience, preferably Big Law and in-house tech.
- Significant prior experience in product counsel roles.
- Strong command of AI/ML legal frameworks and training data issues.
- In-depth knowledge of data privacy laws like GDPR and CCPA.
- Experience with open-source software licensing and compliance.
- Business-oriented mindset with ability to manage legal risk.
- Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-growth environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a legal partner to product, engineering, and design organizations.
- Cultivate relationships with leadership to provide pragmatic legal advice.
- Advise on AI/ML, privacy, IP, and open-source licensing.
- Draft and review technology licensing and integration agreements.
- Manage product-specific legal terms and documentation.
- Support M&A legal integration and due diligence.
- Advise on trademark and brand protection matters.
- Build privacy-by-design practices with GRC teams.
- Coordinate on incident response with security and privacy teams.
- Develop scalable legal workflows for product iteration.
