Requirements
- High School Graduate.
- 5+ years of experience in a physician medical billing office or equivalent.
- Understanding of revenue cycle drivers and ability to resolve complex claims.
- Compliance with HIPAA rules and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
- Experience with athenaOne suite of tools (preferred).
- Experience using Salesforce for case management (preferred).
- Experience with VA payers & providers (preferred).
- Reliable high-speed internet (5 MBPS download / 3 MBPS upload).
Responsibilities
- Process designated claims accurately and in a timely manner.
- Resolve claim issues, adjustments, resubmissions, and appeals.
- Manage accounts receivable, including analyzing aged AR and identifying root causes.
- Perform denial management and contact payer representatives.
- Respond to SalesForce cases from physician practices.
- Oversee functions like Claims Worklists, Zero Pay, and Unapplied payments.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and escalation point.
- Suggest and implement policy updates.
- Drive department-level daily and monthly KPIs.
