Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agriculture economics, animal sciences, or veterinary sciences
  • 5+ years of experience in the livestock industry
  • Strong knowledge of cattle production systems in South America
  • Experience with agricultural policy in South America
  • Professional fluency in English and either Spanish or Portuguese
  • Experience with methane, greenhouse gas, or environmental research
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex science to decision makers
  • Valid passport and willingness to travel internationally (~30% of the time)

Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and interpret agriculture sector data on emissions and livestock production
  • Manage agriculture methane projects across multiple countries
  • Co-lead and draft technical reports, white papers, and op-eds
  • Advocate for ambitious public policies to reduce agriculture methane emissions
  • Identify and perform deep dives into market-based mechanisms and agricultural policies
  • Represent CATF at conferences, meetings, and public venues
  • Manage and oversee work by consultants
