Requirements
- 6+ years of experience building production backend systems.
- Proficiency in PHP 8.2 (Laravel/Symfony) or equivalent modern web stack.
- Expertise in relational data modeling (MySQL, MariaDB, Postgres).
- Experience with document or NoSQL databases (Firestore).
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
- Full-stack development experience (TypeScript/Electron).
- Proven ability to drive architectural and roadmap decisions.
- Experience with AI engineering tooling (e.g., Claude Code).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as a self-manager.
Responsibilities
- Own meaningful parts of the backend and stabilize services.
- Scope, design, and ship backend services.
- Make architectural calls regarding data modeling, caching, and latency.
- Manage infrastructure as code via Terraform and Ansible.
- Ensure operational health, observability, and performance for all features.
- Work across the stack including TypeScript PRs in the Electron app.
- Drive the backend roadmap and cross-cutting initiatives.
- Provide substantive code review and mentor team members.
