Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in managing multiple diverse and inclusive teams.
- Experience delivering large cross-functional technical programs.
- Proven track record in stakeholder management and successful delivery.
- Depth in cache architecture: tiered cache design, eviction, TTL policies, consistency models, and thundering-herd protection.
- Track record operating low-latency, high-throughput storage platforms (e.g., Redis, Memcached, DynamoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, TiDB, Cockroach, Vitess).
- Experience with multi-region topologies and cross-region replication.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in the data infrastructure domain.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers and managers with empathy while fostering an inclusive culture.
- Oversee teams managing relational and key-value storage infrastructure and tools at scale.
- Understand and drive business and engineering metrics with a focus on reliability and security.
- Collaborate with tech leads and program managers on architecture, planning, and project delivery.
- Represent Affirm's hiring brand and recruit top talent.
- Lead technical decisions and roadmaps for the Online Storage team.
- Develop a multi-year roadmap for frameworks and services for new products.
- Guide and mentor junior and senior engineers.
