Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in science, healthcare, communications, or business preferred.
- 8–10+ years of relevant experience within medical communications, scientific publications, healthcare marketing, or related scientific communication environments.
- Prior management experience within a publications and/or medical communications agency is required.
- Strong understanding of scientific, pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industries and the ability to quickly grasp complex scientific concepts.
- Demonstrated experience managing interdisciplinary teams and overseeing multiple client accounts simultaneously.
- Proven business development experience, including proposal writing, client presentations, and account growth initiatives.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with clients and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, financial management, and project leadership capabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and online collaboration tools.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to troubleshoot issues, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality client service in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote and collaborative team structure.
Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day management and strategic oversight of assigned client accounts within the medical publications and communications space.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, key stakeholders, faculty members, medical associations, and industry partners.
- Ensure successful execution of publication and communication programs by coordinating cross-functional teams, monitoring deliverables, and proactively resolving issues.
- Develop a deep understanding of client organizations, therapeutic areas, scientific data, products, and marketing objectives to provide strategic guidance and value-added support.
- Oversee budgeting, financial monitoring, forecasting, and reconciliation for individual projects and broader account portfolios.
- Mentor, manage, and support account team members by providing leadership, coaching, resource planning, and professional development guidance.
- Collaborate with internal departments to optimize staffing, workflow management, and operational efficiency across projects and accounts.
- Contribute to business development initiatives by identifying growth opportunities, preparing proposals, developing presentations, and participating in client meetings.
- Present strategic recommendations, innovative solutions, and project updates to both internal leadership and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate strong interdepartmental communication and lead or participate in internal and external team meetings to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
