Requirements
- 8+ years of accounting experience including review, team mentoring, and production environments.
- Strong technical accounting and taxation capability for near-final review standard.
- Experience with Individual Income Tax Returns, Income Tax Variations, Tax Planning, and FBT returns.
- Experience with Financial Statements and Tax Returns for Sole Traders, Partnerships, Trusts, Companies, and SMSFs.
- Knowledge of Australian tax legislation: Division 7A, deductions, payroll tax, WorkCover, SGC, franking credits, TPAR, etc.
- Payroll expertise: terminations, redundancies, salary packaging, allowances, leave entitlements.
- Proficiency in Xero, Xero Practice Manager, XBert, Dext, and MS Office.
- Experience managing complex entity structures and high-volume environments.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and independent working skills.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Senior Client Manager to ensure seamless workflow management, effective prioritisation, and timely delivery of accounting and bookkeeping work.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and technical direction to junior, intermediate, and senior accountants and bookkeepers.
- Oversee review standards for financial statements, tax returns, BAS, payroll, and related outputs to near-complete state.
- Invest in capability building by training, mentoring, and developing team members.
- Oversee a diverse production team across multiple levels of experience and locations.
- Proactively identify recurring errors and inefficiencies, translating them into coaching and process improvements.
- Manage workflow allocation and prioritisation to ensure timely delivery.
- Collaborate on strategic initiatives, including client discussions, tax planning, and structural considerations.
