Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, commercial roles, or technical sales within the meat, food protection, ingredients, or related food industry.
  • Strong ability to build customer relationships and convert technical concepts into commercial value.
  • Proven experience managing sales pipelines and converting early-stage opportunities into revenue-generating business.
  • Solid understanding of pricing strategy, margin management, and competitive market dynamics.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across commercial, technical, and financial teams.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and apply insights to business development strategy.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with confidence in customer-facing environments.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% as required.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong ownership and results-driven execution.

Responsibilities

  • Drive new business development within the meat and food protection segment by identifying, shaping, and converting commercial opportunities across new and existing customers.
  • Act as a technical and application expert, supporting customer engagements by translating product capabilities into clear value-driven solutions.
  • Lead early-stage opportunity development, including proof-of-concept work, customer trials, and initial solution positioning.
  • Manage and develop a robust sales pipeline in collaboration with commercial teams, ensuring disciplined execution and conversion of opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, product management, pricing, and finance teams to align commercial strategy and execution.
  • Support pricing and margin optimization efforts by providing market insights, competitor intelligence, and customer feedback.
  • Contribute to portfolio management activities, including communication of product changes and alignment of messaging across stakeholders.
  • Support innovation and new product launches by enabling customer engagement, sales training, and market activation.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to influence product and growth strategy direction.
  • Represent the organization at customer meetings, industry events, and trade forums as needed.
