Requirements

  • Degree in computer science, data science, machine learning, AI, operations research, engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years experience in quantitative research & analytics or systematic financial trading in US Power Markets.
  • 2+ years experience with Python and computational tool suite (numpy, scipy, pandas, scikit-learn, tensorflow).
  • Experience in the electricity and energy domain (wholesale market prices).
  • Experience developing, releasing, and tracking performance of quantitative trading strategies in production.
  • Experience communicating mathematical concepts and analytical results to diverse audiences.
  • Collaboration-first mentality and willingness to teach/mentor.
  • Passion for clean energy and climate change.

Responsibilities

  • Use research insights to shape product direction and deliver innovative client solutions.
  • Influence product and engineering roadmaps through research insights and backtest metrics.
  • Initiate and lead cross-functional engagements for advanced quantitative analytics and machine learning.
  • Investigate trading performance to drive continuous strategy improvement.
  • Research, develop, backtest, and deploy quantitative trading signals and strategies.
  • Identify sources of trading alpha using energy datasets.
  • Lead short to medium-term research projects in energy asset management.
  • Identify, recruit, train, and mentor members of the trading analyst team.
