Requirements
- 7+ years data engineering experience (including 2+ years in a team lead or principal engineer role)
- Advanced Snowflake: warehouse management, RBAC, dynamic data masking, Snowflake Tasks, performance tuning
- Advanced dbt Cloud: incremental models, snapshots, macros, Semantic Layer, CI/CD using GitHub Actions
- Intermediate Python: Snowpark, pipeline scripting, data quality automation
- Expert Data modelling: dimensional modelling, medallion architecture, retail data models
- Advanced Git: branching strategies, PR workflows, shared dbt projects
- Intermediate Azure Data Factory: pipeline monitoring and troubleshooting
- Retail domain knowledge
- Hands-on experience with AI & Automation Tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, Snowflake Cortex, Elementary)
Responsibilities
- Own the dbt project architecture, including model structure, testing standards, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Manage the dataset delivery backlog with onshore stakeholders.
- Govern code quality by reviewing all Silver and Gold models prior to UAT.
- Own the end-to-end dataset handover process from Build to Run.
- Coordinate and prioritise work across Build and Run workstreams.
- Participate in standups and lead sprint demonstrations.
- Own DataHub SLA performance, oversee new dataset onboarding, and act as the final escalation point for production support.
