Requirements

  • 5-8+ years of experience in a role focused on problem solving, team management, and/or new business development.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Strong technical skills and ease with learning new third-party tech platforms.
  • Experience in fundraising and partnership/relationship management.
  • Strong communications skills in speaking, writing, presenting, and negotiating.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time including for team retreats.
  • Must be able to deploy on short notice in response to an emergency.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and building systems from scratch.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end design, planning, and execution of improvements to emergency response capabilities.
  • Refine and scale deployment criteria and operational playbooks.
  • Conduct operational diligence, feasibility, and risk assessments for individual disaster responses.
  • Define, track, and report on operational efficiency and impact metrics.
  • Manage partners, vendors, and subgrantees to drive excellence in program execution.
  • Identify and pursue response-specific and unrestricted emergency funding opportunities.
  • Translate field learnings into compelling donor proposals and campaign materials.
  • Manage a Program Manager and support broader surge staffing efforts.
  • Foster talent development and coaching.
