Requirements

  • Fluent in Python and Jupyter for data analysis, statistical modeling, simulation, visualization & reporting.
  • Fluent in SQL and working with large scale data using tools such as Hive, Presto, Druid, and Spark.
  • Experience with building dashboards & reports using tools such as Jupyter, Quarto, Superset.
  • Solid, intuitive understanding of website operations and structure.
  • Practical expertise in web search SEO/GEO.
  • Statistical nuance required to design experiments and identify significant phenomena.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree + 5 years related experience or a Master’s degree + 3 years related experience; or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Wikimedia projects, moderation processes, and communities (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Integrate fragmented data from internal lake, BigQuery, Matomo, and external intelligence tools.
  • Translate analytics and complex trends into actionable narratives for leadership.
  • Develop automated systems to detect under-indexed or missing content.
  • Establish metrics to track content utilization within LLMs and generative search engines.
  • Collaborate with product leaders to define measurable outcomes and instrumentation requirements.
  • Design and analyze experiments (A/B testing) to assess initiative efficacy.
  • Interpret website performance data to inform UX/UI enhancements.
