Requirements
- Significant experience building distributed systems.
- Experience with multi-tenant platform services (design, implementation, operations).
- Strong systems fundamentals: concurrency, performance, reliability.
- Proven record of shipping platform primitives (APIs, control/data planes).
- Experience owning outcomes like SLOs and incident response.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms.
- Knowledge of IAM/security boundaries for cross-account execution.
- Experience building Kubernetes controllers or CRDs.
Responsibilities
- Invent new managed compute primitives for Temporal Cloud.
- Design self-optimizing autoscaling systems for worker fleets.
- Define the boundary between Open Source Server and Cloud compute capabilities.
- Architect and operate services on the hot path of task execution.
- Deliver cloud integrations including IAM, security credentials, and networking.
- Ensure operability via SLOs, tracing, metrics, and incident reviews.
- Lead platform changes through design docs and cross-team influence.
- Mentor and raise the bar through pragmatic technical leadership.
