Requirements

  • At least 7 years of writing in a digital newsroom.
  • Experience in business journalism is preferred.
  • Experience with health and science journalism is a plus.
  • Ability to write clean, compelling storylines in a smart, clear, authoritative and original voice.
  • Deadline- and detail-oriented.
  • Must be willing to fact-check as needed.
  • Familiarity working with data sets and enthusiastic about working on a wide range of subjects.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time.
  • Engaging interpersonal skills—we want people who are collaborative, kind and communicative.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate Statista lists to identify industry trends and potentially problematic companies that may need to be removed from a list due to alleged misconduct.
  • Report and write features and, in some instances, list “landers” for Statista projects/rankings. This includes producing compelling introductions, articles and other content for the site.
  • Fact-check your work.
  • Source photos from featured companies along with photo credits and possible captions.
  • If needed, build articles in Forbes’ content management system—which would include placing photos and inputting keywords and links where appropriate.
