- 10+ years of experience in product design
- Background in designing developer platforms, IDEs, or internal tools for enterprise/regulated software
- Deep expertise in IA (Information Architecture)
- Strong understanding of how engineers plan, build, test, and deploy software
- Comfort designing for declarative systems, complex state, and traceable workflows
- Experience embedding AI into core workflows with a focus on trust, explainability, and failure modes
- Ability to define new interaction paradigms in ambiguous spaces
Responsibilities
- Report to our VP of Product & Design, and partner closely with our Chief Technology & AI Officer.
- Define Core Mental Models: Establish the system structures for a new AI-enabled IDE, representing projects, modules, components, and services.
- Architect System Logic: Design the IA for complex data workflows, including dependencies, versioning, state, and environments.
- Lead AI-Native Interaction: Design workflows where natural language is the primary interface for generation and iteration.
- Design for AI Reliability: Build frameworks for AI-driven validation and troubleshooting, ensuring human oversight and reversibility are first-class features.
- Bridge Technical Abstractions: Partner with architects to translate complex configuration-driven systems into intuitive developer experiences.
- Scale Enterprise Governance: Ensure the UX supports high-stakes requirements like auditability, compliance, and permissions without sacrificing speed.
