Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering
  • Master’s in Structural Engineering preferred
  • 7–10 years in bridge design, rehabilitation, and construction with a railroad focus
  • Previous project management experience is required
  • Professional Engineer Licensure
  • Structural Engineer License preferred
  • Proven track record with Class I Railroads, Passenger Rail and/or transit agencies
  • Expertise in AREMA standards and rail structure design
  • Railroad bridge inspection experience
  • Construction inspection or construction management experience is a benefit
  • Strong leadership, client management, communication and multitasking skills

Responsibilities

  • Drive end-to-end project delivery—planning, staffing, budgeting, and execution across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Manage schedules, resources, and deliverables to ensure on-time, on-budget success
  • Collaborate with clients, agencies, and internal teams to build strong partnerships
  • Oversee technical designs, ensuring compliance with AREMA and client standards
  • Prepare reports, cost estimates, and documentation that tell the story of project success
  • Train and mentor junior engineers in rail bridge design, rehabilitation, retaining wall design, culvert design and construction staging
  • Champion safety and quality at every stage
