Requirements
- J.D. from ABA accredited law school
- Admitted to practice in US
- Minimum 10 years of legal expertise as in-house counsel working on wide range of commercial and non-commercial transactions
- Experience managing a large volume of contracts, including maintaining metrics
- Experience working with medical device or life science companies is highly preferred
- Experience with International Distribution (e.g., international distribution agreements and ancillary documentation)
- Experience in other areas of in-house counsel expertise, such as IP or privacy preferred
- Strong work ethic
- Willingness to learn new skills and function effectively in rapidly changing environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial and non-commercial agreements including but not limited to: Supply, Material Transfer, Distribution, Research, Consulting, Quality and Technology and Licensing agreements.
- Support review and negotiation of data processing agreements, and related privacy documents with working knowledge of GDPR.
- Provide Healthcare Compliance support, including analysis of contractual rebates and discount offer to ensure compliance with Anti-Kickback Statute and healthcare regulations.
- Keep abreast of and proactively address changing regulations, industry and market trends, and technology, and effectively work with a variety of business, finance and legal stakeholders.
- Develop and implement practices that support innovation and growth while maintaining appropriate protections and safeguards for Axogen.
- Drive and/or assist with various legal department projects that support the legal department goals.
- Assist with efforts to develop, implement and enhance processes that improve transaction and contracting velocity and scaling without material increases in risk.
