- Strong backend engineering depth
- Hands-on experience building production systems in Python
- Hands-on experience building production systems in Flask
- Experience designing and operating reliable, scalable, and maintainable systems
- Strong full-stack instincts
- Hands-on experience with APIs
- Hands-on experience with SQL databases
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms
- Hands-on experience with Docker
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD workflows
- Strong engineering fundamentals
- Sound judgment around architectural tradeoffs
- Strong written and verbal communication in English
- High degree of autonomy, accountability, and follow-through
Responsibilities
- Build and operate large-scale systems
- Execute on detailed, well-reasoned tickets with autonomy
- Contribute to shaping tickets and influencing direction
- Take ownership of projects
- Raise the bar on what gets shipped
- Apply systems thinking: distributed architecture, fault tolerance, scalability, observability
- Contribute across backend, frontend, and adjacent technical domains when needed
