Requirements

  • 10+ years professional experience in accounting
  • Deep mastery of ASC 606 and revenue recognition in a public accounting and/or public company SaaS environment
  • CPA required
  • Strong experience with revenue reporting infrastructure (e.g., AREV, NetSuite, or similar)
  • Ability to oversee functional system design
  • Exceptional oral and written skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex accounting impacts to executive-level leadership and nonaccountants
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable operating across multiple priorities and stakeholder groups
  • Strong knowledge of SOX compliance
  • Strong knowledge of SEC reporting requirements

Responsibilities

  • Own all aspects of global revenue accounting, including contract reviews, technical accounting conclusions, monthly revenue close processes, revenue-related accounting policies, and quarterly SEC disclosures, ensuring compliance with ASC 606, SOX, and company policies
  • Act as a subject matter expert in revenue accounting, including interpreting complex ASC 606 guidance and shaping the structure of non-standard revenue arrangements and related revenue policies for the company
  • Drive continuous process transformation and automation across revenue accounting, maximizing the use of AI tools to accelerate workflows like month-end close and reconciliations while ensuring robust financial controls
  • Own the functional design and integrity of the revenue recognition system and revenue reporting infrastructure, ensuring systems are architected for efficiency, auditability, and long-term scalability
  • Partner with Sales, Deal Desk, Product, FP&A, Legal, and other cross-functional partners on non-standard contract strategy and policies
  • Determine the impact and provide guidance on accounting implications of pricing changes, product launches, and other strategic go-to-market initiatives; ensure timely operationalizing of those initiatives
  • Collaborate with FP&A and other teams on revenue forecasting, particularly related to new go-to-market initiatives
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the revenue accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence, as well as developing a high-performing, collaborative team
