Requirements
- 10+ years in agency or in-house B2B marketing.
- At least 5 years in a senior strategy role spanning brand/communications and performance/demand.
- Fluency in narrative architecture and CAC/LTV math.
- Demonstrated technical fluency across at least four of: Paid Search, Paid Social, SEO, Content, LLM/AI search, Creative, Programmatic, Lifecycle, RevOps.
- Track record of setting strategy for B2B clients across multiple verticals (services, industrial/manufacturing, SaaS, B2B commerce).
- Comfort operating as a high-leverage individual contributor without a team.
- Strong understanding of the difference between marketing strategy and a media plan.
- Ability to think in terms of the client's P&L.
- Experience using AI in B2B strategy for real work.
Responsibilities
- Own the strategic thesis for every new client engagement at Directive.
- Diagnose the business, define the strategy, sequence the work, and align channel teams on an integrated plan.
- Drive pilot-to-retainer conversion rate, which is the primary business metric.
- Ensure cross-capability strategic coherence, integrating Paid, SEO, Content, Creative, Programmatic, RevOps, and Comms.
- Work directly with subject matter experts across every capability to pressure-test strategy.
- Set the direction and pressure-test the work of account strategists and channel teams.
- Shadow the CEO for the first 90 days to learn diagnosis and strategy setting.
