Requirements

  • Advanced degree (PhD, MD, MPH, MS, PharmD) strongly preferred
  • Extensive experience in business development roles within medical communications, healthcare communications, pharmaceutical communications agency
  • Experience in client-facing and opinion leader-facing roles
  • Experience with pharma sponsored HCP engagements is essential
  • Previous experience with CME and/or third-party medical insight gathering preferred
  • Demonstrable track record of generating new business
  • Demonstrable track record of leading pitches / RFPs
  • Demonstrable track record of building long-term client relationships
  • Demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills
  • Able to engage senior client stakeholders
  • Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen
  • Able to understand market trends, client needs, competitive environment, and translate them into opportunity
  • Scientific literacy or familiarity with life-sciences / healthcare (therapeutic areas, clinical development, medical affairs)

Responsibilities

  • Lead new business growth for Real-World iNSIGHTS programs
  • Identify, pursue, and win new business opportunities
  • Build strong relationships with pharmaceutical/biotech clients
  • Position the agency as a trusted partner for medical insight gathering and HCP engagement
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities among pharma/biotech companies needing real-world evidence, medical writing, publication planning, medical affairs support, or full-service med-comms
  • Cultivate relationships with key decision-makers and understand their needs
  • Lead development of tailored proposals, RFP responses, and pitch presentations for real-world insights
  • Contribute to the agency’s business-development strategy by tracking market trends, analyzing the competitive landscape, and identifying whitespace opportunities
  • Work with scientific strategy, medical-writing, creative, publications, and account teams to ensure proposals and delivery align with client needs and agency capabilities
