Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience
  • At least four years of experience in a consulting environment
  • Master's degree in a subject related to health services research (e.g., health economics, public policy, health policy, epidemiology, biostatistics, or public health)
  • Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a diverse team
  • Awareness and understanding of financial performance on projects
  • Ability to line-manage and mentor direct reports
  • Ability to ensure positive staff well-being/team dynamic
  • Experience leveraging a broad range of datasets and data types to answer key research questions for pharmacy and biotech clients
  • Experience with studies involving primary data collection, including patient/provider surveys, discrete choice experiments
  • Experience overseeing observational and retrospective data analyses
  • Ability to clearly explain rationale, methods/results, and strategy for studies to project teams, clients, and external stakeholders
  • Understanding strengths and limitations of alternative approaches and proposing applications/solutions of new or existing methods
  • PhD in a subject related to health services research (helpful)
  • Willingness and desire to learn and share knowledge (helpful)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (helpful)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (helpful)
  • Pays attention to detail and performs quality checks of own work and that of others (helpful)
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills (helpful)

Responsibilities

  • Lead teams of research professionals conducting client studies in the pharmacy and biotech space
  • Operate as a thought leader, problem solver, and consultative expert in Real World Evidence
  • Oversee multiple projects, serving as the project manager and primary client contact
  • Ensure overall quality, develop recommendations, and communicate risks and opportunities
  • Assume the role of final decision maker, able to overturn decisions and take accountability for outcomes
  • Accountable for timely delivery and financial performance across projects
  • Review and sign off on deliverables as client ready including protocols, statistical analysis plans, technical reports, and slides
  • Provide final sign-off on update slides/minutes and actions for overall study
  • Own relationships with clients and be viewed as subject matter expert
  • Act as advisor on client calls and in responses to emails, proactively managing client expectations
  • Involved in business development, participating in sales calls, leading study conceptualization, and drafting proposals
  • Have line management responsibilities which include ensuring appropriate staffing and creating development plans for direct reports
