Requirements
- 5+ years of experience
- 2 years of experience with ETL pipelines and data warehouses
- Operate independently
- Collaborate effectively with other experienced engineers (application/front-end engineers)
- Good judgment on tradeoffs and tools needed to solve problems
- Prefer supported, stable technologies
- Use customer problems as input into designing systems
- Find joy in creating simple, elegant solutions
- Consider observability, SLA and scalability implications
- Avoid premature optimization
- Familiarity with AWS
- Familiarity with Postgres
- Familiarity with Node.js
- TypeScript experience
- Kafka for event processing experience
- Apollo/Express as web server experience
- ClickHouse database experience
- Snowflake data warehouse experience
Responsibilities
- Build efficient data pipelines to process billions of events and user actions daily
- Process data for internal and customer use
- Transform data for customer insights about Common Room's impact
- Help Common Room extract product and business insights from data
- Scale systems with ETL pipelines and data warehouses
- Ensure simplicity, efficiency, and reliability of systems
- Identify and participate in important company-building initiatives
- Stay one step ahead of the product to serve customer and team needs
