  • 5+ years in a leadership role within Data Management or Governance
  • Deep understanding of data profiling tools
  • Deep understanding of metadata harvesters
  • Deep understanding of modern data stack (Snowflake, dbt, etc.)
  • Experience with AI systems in production
  • Proven ability to draft "Decision Papers" and Charters that gain executive buy-in
  • Experience knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK frameworks
  • Experience with data quality lifecycle management
  • Exceptional ability to translate technical data risks into business impact for C-suite stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute Data Governance roadmap that aligns with the Enterprise Information & Governance vision.
  • Review, maintain, and enforce the Data Management Policy and Data Governance Charter.
  • Serve as a key leader within the Data Governance Council (DGC), facilitating decision-making on data standards and resolving cross-functional data conflicts.
  • Implement the Data Quality Management Procedures, establishing KPIs for data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Define enterprise-wide data standards, including metadata management, data lineage, and master data management (MDM) protocols.
  • Lead the process for identifying "bad data" and overseeing remediation efforts with data owners and stewards.
  • Collaborate with the CFO and Security teams to ensure data pipelines are optimized for AI applications while maintaining strict security boundaries.
  • Work with Security to define data classification levels and manage high-risk data access policies.
  • Ensure data practices adhere to global privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and the internal Enterprise Information & Governance mandates.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a network of Data Stewards and Data Owners across business units.
  • Act as an evangelist for Data as an Asset, driving a culture of data literacy and accountability.
  • Provide regular updates to the CFO and executive leadership on governance maturity, risk levels, and ROI of data quality initiatives.
