Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in energy markets, retail energy procurement advisory, or related analytical roles.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. energy markets, including ISO/RTO structures, pricing mechanisms, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Background in economics, finance, energy, or a related quantitative field.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to synthesize large and complex datasets.
  • Proven ability to translate data into compelling insights and storytelling that influence decisions.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation).
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to clarity and audience adaptation.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • High level of ownership, attention to detail, and accountability in delivering high-quality work.
  • Comfort working in virtual, cloud-based environments and distributed teams.

Responsibilities

  • Translate complex energy market datasets into clear, structured insights and narratives that support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor and analyze U.S. energy market fundamentals, including pricing trends, supply-demand dynamics, and regulatory developments across ISO/RTO regions.
  • Research and contextualize policy and market events to assess their impact on procurement strategies and client outcomes.
  • Develop high-quality deliverables such as reports, presentations, and dashboards that communicate insights effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Present findings to internal and external stakeholders, adapting messaging for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Identify emerging risks, opportunities, and trends, clearly articulating their implications for energy strategy and procurement.
  • Collaborate with procurement, client services, and strategy teams to convert insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Support the development of internal analytical tools, models, and data visualization capabilities.
  • Independently source, validate, and interpret data from multiple datasets to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Contribute to ongoing thought leadership by connecting market signals into cohesive “so what” narratives.
