Requirements

  • 8-10 years of progressive HR experience, with significant time supporting field-based, multi-unit, retail, restaurant, or hospitality teams.
  • Proven experience partnering with senior leaders and influencing outcomes without direct authority.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect people initiatives to operational outcomes.
  • Strong employee relations expertise and the ability to navigate complex, high-stakes situations with confidence and care.
  • A business-minded, data-informed approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly with leaders and teams at all levels.
  • Comfort working independently in a field-based role while staying deeply connected to a collaborative People Team.
  • High integrity, discretion, and a genuine passion for people and culture.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, particularly California.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS system.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • A minimum of eight years of direct human resource management experience required.
  • Experience supporting multi-state and high-growth organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with Regional Directors and Field Operations leaders to align people strategies with business goals and growth plans.
  • Translate business needs into actionable HR solutions through workforce planning, organizational design, succession planning, and leadership development across the region.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and escalation point for complex employee relations matters, including performance management, corrective action, investigations, and terminations.
  • Coach and influence field leaders on effective people management practices, difficult conversations, and risk mitigation.
  • Oversee and conduct internal investigations, ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant outcomes with thorough documentation.
  • Drive engagement initiatives that strengthen connection, culture, and belonging for field teams.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple jurisdictions, including wage and hour laws, Fair Work Week, FMLA, OSHA, EEO, and ADA.
  • Provide guidance to leaders on compensation decisions, job leveling, promotions, and performance-based rewards within established frameworks.
  • Partner with the People Team on benefits administration, program enhancements, and communication strategies that support field employees.
  • Support operationalization of learning and development programs in the field.
