Requirements
- 6-8+ years of professional backend engineering experience
- Strong expertise in Python (async, FastAPI or similar)
- Working proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js
- Deep experience with PostgreSQL (query optimization, schema design, migrations)
- Hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS
- Track record building and operating production-critical distributed systems
- Architectural judgment
Responsibilities
- Design and evolve backend services in Python (FastAPI) and TypeScript across the platform
- Identify bottlenecks and propose pragmatic simplifications
- Own critical services end-to-end: design, implementation, production, monitoring
- Improve developer experience: local dev, CI/CD, testing, documentation
- Establish engineering standards for service design, API contracts, and operational readiness
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and leading by example
