Requirements
- 3 or more years of construction estimating experience
- Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings
- Proficiency performing digital quantity takeoffs from construction plans
- Experience reviewing project specifications and finish schedules
- Experience preparing detailed construction cost estimates
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience with Measure Square, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam Revu, or Stack Takeoff
Responsibilities
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and addenda to determine full project scope
- Interpret construction documents including finish schedules, elevations, sections, and detail drawings
- Identify scope requirements, exclusions, and potential risk factors within the bid documents
- Perform accurate digital quantity takeoffs from construction drawings
- Measure floor, wall, and vertical surface areas for materials including tile, stone, and related finish materials
- Develop detailed cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs
- Apply company labor production rates to estimate installation durations and labor costs
- Prepare bid proposals in accordance with project bid instructions
- Coordinate with project managers and leadership to review estimate assumptions
- Provide estimate breakdowns and documentation for project handoff when projects are awarded
