Requirements

  • Native Fluency in AI/Search (RAG, lexical/semantic search, context windows)
  • Developer Empathy (experience with bad APIs, poor documentation, rate limits)
  • Proven Writing (clear, concise copy for landing pages and technical whitepapers)
  • Comfort reading/writing Python or JavaScript
  • Ability to fire up a terminal to test a cURL request
  • Experience or familiarity with publishing packages to registries (NPM, PyPI), repositories (GitHub), or app stores
  • Former engineer turned marketer, or a PMM who learned to code

Responsibilities

  • Define why an "Independent Index" matters for enterprise AI, differentiating Brave from wrapper APIs and Big Tech incumbents based on quality, freshness, and privacy.
  • Own the go-to-market motion for new endpoints, data types (News, Images, Videos), and features, coordinating across Engineering, Product, and Sales.
  • Arm the sales team with high-leverage assets: technical battlecards, ROI frameworks for switching from Bing/Google, and sovereignty case studies for enterprise clients.
  • Produce technical content that proves value, including "Hello World" to "Production" tutorials, interactive notebooks (Colab/Jupyter), and reference architectures for RAG pipelines.
  • Represent Brave in the AI engineer community and ensure first-class integrations with frameworks like LangChain, AutoGPT, and Vercel AI SDK.
  • Treat documentation as the most important landing page and optimize the "Time to First API Call" metric.
  • Draft blog posts about new ranking algorithms and fix Python code snippets in documentation.
  • Analyze how competitors (Perplexity, Exa, Bing) package their APIs and identify Brave's competitive advantage.
  • Engage with developers on X, Reddit, and Discord to answer search API questions.
  • Act as "Customer Zero" by testing APIs before they ship and channeling developer feedback to the product team.
