Registered General Nurse (RGN) with an active, unrestricted registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC). Hold a Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health. Minimum of 3–5 years’ post-registration experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least 3 years’ recent practice in an Occupational Health Advisor, Occupational Health Nurse, or Occupational Health Case Manager role in a corporate environment. Skilled in managing complex caseloads, conducting evidence-based health assessments, and reporting. Strong and current knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation and regulations. Up-to-date knowledge of physical, mental health, and neurodiverse conditions relevant to workplace fitness, reasonable adjustments, and ongoing support. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with employees, managers, and stakeholders, and produce high-quality clinical reports. Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to professionalism, detail, and teamwork. Proficient in using medical and Occupational Health electronic systems, as well as general IT tools (Word, Excel). Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and make sound clinical decisions with minimal supervision in a remote setting.
Responsibilities:
Practice within NMC professional standards and deliver care based on qualifications and competency. Conduct comprehensive Occupational Health assessments (pre-employment, fitness-for-work, return-to-work, injury-on-duty, health surveillance, risk assessments) and prepare impartial reports. Advise on sickness absence management, rehabilitation, and complex health issues, liaising with external providers. Provide guidance on workplace adjustments for employees with health conditions or disabilities, ensuring legal compliance. Support wellbeing and health promotion initiatives. Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of clinical records. Ensure auditable practice through quality standards and clinical governance. Collaborate with teams to refine digital documentation, workflows, and records management systems.
