Managing Architect (public sector)

Experience as a lead or managing architect. Designing, delivering enterprise-scale platforms and managed services. Experience with bespoke software solutions, streaming, and cloud-native solutions. Designing modern data platforms (Data Mesh, Data Fabric, Data Lake). Solving enterprise data and analytics problems using technology. Hands-on Public Cloud experience in AWS/Azure/Google with a DevOps-centric approach. Experience in sensitive data environments and facing cybersecurity specialists. Designing large-scale cloud migration projects/programmes (open source and commercial software within AWS, Azure, GCP or hybrid). Experience operating within a multi-disciplined team. Clearly communicating complex technology solutions to technical and non-technical people. Designing event processing and async messaging architectures. Applying latest technologies to solve complex problems and develop innovative data and analytical solutions. Working knowledge of cloud orchestration and containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Working knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code. Understanding of NCSC Cloud Security Principles and practical implementations. UK Government Security Check (SC) clearance required (support provided if criteria met). Lived and worked in the UK for a minimum of 5 years if SC clearance is not held.

Act as Client CTO for assigned projects/services. Support Client Delivery Director and Account Director. Lead solution, data, cloud, service, and security architects/engineers. Deliver design documents and key artefacts. Influence through excellent communication skills. Build effective working relationships with teams and customers. Operate as the technical lead across multiple projects. Mentor less-experienced client team members. Contribute to developing Aker's capabilities. Support Sales and Product functions. Help grow existing accounts.
